Beagle, Peter S. A Fine and Private Place New York Viking 1960 First Edition Hard Cover Near Fine in a Very Good dustjacket. Marbled green boards quarterbound in green cloth. The spine is stamped in dark green. Octavo. 272pps. There are a few small and faint specks to the closed top edge and the tips are gently rubbed, otherwise fine: clean, tight, square, and bright. No previous ownership markings. The George Salter designed dustjacket, glossy in a new mylar sleeve, has shallow, 1/4" chipping at the top of the spine, light rubbing wear at the extremities, and a slightly sundarkened rear white panel; the original price (3.95) is intact. A very nice, collector's-quality copy of Beagle's first novel, a classic of fantasy literature.
