Near Fine in a Very Good dustjacket. Bound in full black cloth. The spine is silver-stamped. Octavo. 317pps. The original owner's blind name-stamp is in the lower corner of the half-title page. Also, the pages are slightly yellowed due to the acidity of the paper. Otherwise flawless: clean, tight, and square. Absolutely no reading wear. The price-clipped dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has modest edgewear, particularly at the spine-ends and tips. There is a small abrasion amid the spine. Overall, a very nice copy.
"...James Connolly was one of the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland. He was named vice-president of the Provisional Government of the Irish Republic, and was Commandant-General of the insurgent forces fighting in Dublin. After the defeat of the rising by British troops, he was condemned to death by the British and executed by a firing squad, at the age of forty-eight, while strapped to a chair because his wounds did not permit him to stand.
In his introduction to this volume, Ellis provides, in addition to a compact biography of Connolly, a description of his work and its place in revolutionary thought..."
