Buck, Pearl S. China As I See It New York John Day 1970 Limited First Edition Cloth SIGNED by the Author Fine in a Near Fine dustjacket. Bound in full tan cloth. Both the spine and the decorative front board are stamped in gilt. Octavo. 305pps. A special limitation page reads: 'Of this special edition of China As I See It 3,000 copies have been retained by the author for presentation'. This copy is not numbered, but is SIGNED by the author. An excellent, collector's-quality copy: clean, tight, square, and bright. All tips are sharp. The pages are immaculate; no reading wear and no previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has light rubbing wear -- particularly at the tips and the spine-ends; no chips, soiling, or tears. The original price (7.95) is intact. A beautiful copy of a scarce issue.

Buck, Pearl S. China Past And Present New York John Day 1972 Limited First Edition Buckram SIGNED by the Author Near Fine in a Near Fine dustjacket. Bound in full white buckram. Both the spine and the decorative front board are stamped in black. Quarto. Burnt-orange endpapers. 177pps., with numerous black-and-white photos. Pages 95 and 97 have 1" closed tears with attendant creases, otherwise Fine: clean, tight, square, and bright. All tips are sharp. No previous ownership markings. The price-clipped dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has a slight crease in the rear panel and at the lower rear tip; no chips, soiling, or tears. This is copy #402 of 1,000 SIGNED by the author on a special tipped-in sheet (in honor of her 80th birthday). A very nice, collector's-quality copy.

Buck, Pearl S. Command The Morning New York John Day 1959 First Edition Cloth Very Good+ in a Very Good+ dustjacket. Bound in full light blue cloth. The spine is stamped in dark blue. 317pps., plus an Epilogue. There is rubbing along the front gutter and, lightly, to the lower tips. Also, the spine-ends are mildly bumped. Otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. The pages are immaculate: no apparent reading wear (crimps, bumps, dog-ears, or thumbing) or previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar-sleeve, has light rubbing wear at the extremities (with very shallow chipping at the head of the spine). There is a 1/2" closed tear with a corresponding crease at the top of the rear panel. The flap-corners are all neatly clipped with a remnant of the original price's dollar sign still intact. A very nice, collector's-quality copy in an essentially whole and colorful jacket.
