New York St. Martin's Press 1998 0-312-19181-2 / 9780312191818 First Edition, First Printing Hard Cover SIGNED by the Author
As New in an As New dustjacket. Black boards. The spine is gilt-stamped. Octavo. 249pps. A flawless, collector's-quality copy: clean, tight, square, and bright. All tips are sharp. Yet to be read. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, is equally fine; the original price is intact. SIGNED by the author -- without further inscription -- on the title-page.

"...In July of 1923, the Honourable Daisy Dalrymple travels to Henley-on-Thames to visit her aunt and uncle as well as to work on her latest writing assignment -- to cover the Henley Royal Regatta for an American magazine. When she arrives at her relatives', however, she finds the house packed: Daisy's cousin, Tish; Dottie, Tish's friend from Oxford; and the rowing team from Oxford's Ambrose College, all of whom are in town for the Regatta.
Daisy plans a simple trip researching her article, enjoying the races, and, come the weekend, having a pleasant time with her fiance, Detective Chief Inspector Alec Fletcher of Scotland Yard. But the tensions between the Ambrose team's coxswain and rower are constantly threatening to erupt into violence..."

2 Dunn, Carola The Winter Garden Mystery (A Daisy Dalrymple Mystery)
New York, NY, U.S.A. St. Martin's Press 1995 0312132174 / 9780312132170 First Edition, First Printing Hard Cover SIGNED by the Author
Near Fine in a Fine dustjacket. Red boards. The spine is gilt-stamped. Octavo. 226pps. There is mild rubbing to the board-bottoms. Also, there is a slight, almost indescernible lean to the spine. Otherwise clean, tight, and bright. No reading wear and no previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, is as new; the original price is intact. SIGNED and inscribed by the author -- 'For John, Happy Reading,' -- on the title-page. A very nice, collector's-quality copy of the second book in the Daisy Dalrymple series.

"...In England, 1923, the Honourable Daisy Dalrymple has made a decision that, while shocking to her class, is in perfect keeping with the spirit of the times. Rather than live with relatives until she marries, she has undertaken to earn her own living with her writing. Her series of articles on country manor houses has proven popular with the readers of Town and Country and in February she travels to Occles Hall to research her latest piece. What she finds there is a household under the thumb of the ill-tempered and demanding Lady Valeria. The discovery of the body of a pregnant maid buried in the winter garden does nothing to improve Lady Valeria's mood. When the local constabulary arrests the Welsh under-gardener who had been involved with the maid for the murder, Daisy is sure of his innocence and suspects that the whole affair is consciously being swept under the carpet. Wary of the air of secrecy that permeates Occles Hall and determined to prove the innocence of the young Welshman, Daisy convinces Alec Fletcher of Scotland Yard to investigate the murder -- a murder that is more complex and horrifying than either could have imagined."
