1 De Vegh, Elizabeth The Eye of The Beholder (and Other Stories)
New York Random House 1957 First Edition Hardcover
Fine in a Very Good dustjacket. Bound in full black cloth. The spine is gilt-stamped. Bright yellow topstain. 182pps. First printing. There is a mild bump to the upper front tip, otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. No reading wear and no previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has touches of rubbing, shallow chipping at the head of the spine, and light rubbing wear at the tips; there is, also, a faint remnant of label adhesive on the front panel. The original price is intact. The author's first book. A very nice copy of the author's first book.

"Here are fifteen stories so distinctive in outlook that they come as a breath of fresh air to any reader who admires the art of story telling. Mrs. de Vegh is a subtle and perceptive writer who often ends her stories with a 'moment of truth' which sheds a flood of light backward through the story. Her mood is tender but sophisticated and her people are richly human."
