1 Drabble, Margaret A Summer Bird-Cage
New York Morrow 1964 First Edition
Very Good in a Good dustjacket. Brown boards quarterbound in mustard-yellow cloth. The spine is stamped in red and black. Octavo. 224pps. First U.S. edition. There is light soiling to the cloth and faint dustspotting to the fore-edge and to the endpages. Otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. All tips are sharp. No previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has moderate chipping along the upper edge and a sunfaded spine; the original price (3.95) is intact. The author's first book.

"...Sarah had come home from Paris to be a bridesmaid for her sister Louise. She is a young woman, intelligent and attractive, just down from Oxford, but completely at loose ends without close friends or a lover. What she discovers about herself is as fascinating as what she discovers about love, infidelity, and her sister Louise..."
