1 Taintor, Eliot September Remember
New York Prentice-Hall 1945 First Edition Hard Cover
Very Good+ in a Very Good dustjacket. Bound in full tan cloth. Both the spine and the front board are stamped in green. 322pps. There is mild bumping to the extremities and a bit of dustspotting atop the textblock. Also, a previous owner's name is neatly penned at the bottom of the ffep. Otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. No apparent reading wear. The first-issue dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has shallow chipping at the spine-ends and a couple of closed tears on the front panel. The spine and the rear jacket-panel are slightly sun-darkened. Also, there is a very small store label on the front flap; the original price (2.75) is, however, intact. Overall, a clean and presentable copy in the scarce dustjacket. This is the first Alcoholics Anonymous novel with liquor as its central theme.

"Avery Rickham, an explorer in Latin American countries, hated a lot of things, among them New York City. He liked country people and fishing and the jungle -- and he liked to drink. At first he was one of the estimated three million excessive drinkers in the U.S. Then he became one of the estimated six hundred thousand alcoholics in our country. This was Avery Rickham at the beginning of this novel -- suffering remorse from a terrific bender that had landed him in a police station..."
