In Very Good condition. Fully bound in the publisher's embossed brown cloth. The spine is gilt-stamped. 469pps., with over 100 illustrations 'of ancient South American arts (in recently discovered implements and products of domestic industry, and works in stone, pottery, gold, silver, bronze, &c).' There is rubbing wear to the tips and the spine-ends, with a 1" split at the top of the front joint. The titles are legible, though they are rubbed and dull. Internally, there is a bit of yellowing and foxing in the area of the endpapers and a previous owner's name is neatly penned near the top of the title-page: the text is, otherwise in splendid, bright, clean condition. The binding, if very slightly shaken, is quite sound (I hesitate to call so old a binding 'tight', even if it seems so). In short, a nice copy of this scarce, old title.
