1 Grey, Zane The Maverick Queen
New York Harper & Brothers 1950 First Edition Cloth
(1950). Near Fine in a Very Good dustjacket. Bound in full light blue cloth. Both the spine and the front panel are stamped in dark blue. Octavo. 246pps. Stated First Edition (D-Z), as required. There is a small spot of fading at the head of the spine (due to a corresponding chip in the jacket) and a superficial abrasion on the ffep from where a small, square price sticker had been removed. Also, the board bottoms are mildly worn. Otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. The textblock is immaculate; no apparent reading wear and no previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a new mylar sleeve, has a 1/2" chip at the head of the spine and a few closed edge-tears and crinkles; the original price (2.50) is intact. A nice, collector's quality copy of 'The New 1950 Zane Grey Novel,' colorfully jacketed.

"Linc Bradway had to prove himself when he came to the rip-roaring Wyoming town of South Pass. The tall, gray-eyed cowboy had a grim errand -- to clear up the mystery surrounding the death of his partner, Jimmy Weston. A few hours after his arrival, Linc, one of the fastest men at the draw of all Zane Grey's western heroes, had given convincing proof of himself at the poker table and with his sixguns. The demonstration was enough to win him the hate of the gambler Emery and his gang, and the love of Kit Bandon, the fascinating and fabulous 'Maverick Queen' who had a weakness for handsome cowboys. And Linc also found himself in dead center of one of the hottest range wars ever to flare up before the law moved out to western Wyoming."

2 Grey, Zane Wanderer of The Wasteland
New York Grosset & Dunlap
(1923). Near Fine in a Very Good dustjacket. Red boards. Both the spine and the decorative front board are stamped in black. 419pps., plus ads. There is mild bumping to the spine-ends and very light foxing to the endpapers and page-edges. Otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. The text is immaculate; no reading wear and no previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has modest chipping to the extremities and a 1" closed tear -- with an attendant crease -- at the top of the front panel. A very nice copy.

"...Adam Larey believes himself guilty of a terrible crime and goes into the solitude of the Great American Desert to expiate it. He and his brother had quarreled over a pretty Mexican girl, and Adam had shot the other boy, and rushed away, thinking he had killed his brother. There are other people in the wastelands who for various strange reasons are avoiding cities and civilization, and Adam, who is a young giant, defends helpless women, rescues a gold prospector whose claim has been jumped and who is being abused by bandits, and finally falls in love with the girl who is instrumental in bringing him back to civilization..."

3 Grey, Zane Wild Horse Mesa
New York Grosset & Dunlap Cloth
(1928). Near Fine in a Very Good+ dustjacket. Fully bound in blue cloth. Both the spine and the decorative front board are stamped in orange. Pictorial endpapers. 365pps., plus ads. There is very mild bumping to the spine-ends. The pages are slightly and uniformly yellowed. Otherwise clean, tight, and square. All tips are sharp. No reading wear and no previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has light edgwear with a bit of shallow chipping at the extremities. All in all, a very nice copy. ".Up and up from the desert below sped the hunt for Panguitch, greatest and most sought after wild stallion. But Panguitch was more than a horse; to a man he was the symbol of all adventure, and to a girl the symbol of her romance. The pursuit of Panguitch, then, was fraught with meaning for both. Zane Grey has never created so attractive a heroine as this girl, who, with her father and a resolute party, sets forth to conquer Wild Horse Mesa. The intrigues of an outlaw who found his way into the camp, the fine devotion of two brothers; the stirring account of the capture of a herd; and then, finally, the last stand of Panguitch and the smashing events which bring the story to a conclusion -- make this perhaps the best romance Zane Grey has written." New York Grosset and Dunlap 1932
Near Fine in a Very Good+ dustjacket. Textured, 'woven' brown and tan boards. The spine is stamped in black. Brown topstain. 244pp. This book comes with a Certificate of Provenance as it is from the personal collection of Mr. G. M. Farley, a noted Zane Grey authority whose library was one of the finest of its kind. There are touches of mottling to the topstain. The tips are lightly rubbed. Otherwise beautiful: clean, tight, square, and bright. The pages and boards are immaculate. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, has some rubbing and wear at the spine-ends and the flap-folds.
