Very Good+ in a Near Fine dustjacket. Decorative, glossy white hardboards. Both the spine and the front board are stamped in black. Square quarto. 176pps., with 18 illustrations interspersed in the text and 120 full-page black-and-white plates. A color frontispiece is tipped-in. There is a thin, horizontal crease in the front board: it is unnoticeable externally and but slightly in the pastedown. A faint pencil-erasure (of price) is in the upper corner of the ffep. Also, the pages are a bit tanned, which is common with this title. Otherwise clean, tight, and square. No reading wear or previous ownership markings. The glassine dustjacket, printed in orange, is rubbed, has a small closed tear at the upper front tip, and a 1/16" chip at the upper rear tip; there are no other flaws. All in all, a very nice copy in an excellent jacket.
