1 Harrison, Jim A Good Day to Die
New York Simon & Schuster 1973 0671215744 / 9780671215743 First Edition, First Printing Hard Cover
Very Good+ in a Very Good+ dustjacket. Orange boards quarterbound in brown cloth. The spine is stamped in tan. Octavo. 176pps. There is the all-too-common remainder mark on the bottom of the textblock, unobtrusively placed near the tail-band. Also, there is a small remnant of label adhesive (1/2" x 1/2") in the top corner of the ffep. A slight, abraded nick at the fore-edge of the rfep is due to it having been stuck to the rear pastedown. Otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. All tips are sharp. No previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a new mylar sleeve, has minor touches of crinkling at the extremities and a few creasings in the front flap; no chips, sunning, soiling, or tears. The original price (5.95) is intact. A very nice, presentable copy of the author's elusive second novel (following 'Wolf'). ".Jim Harrison, both a poet and a novelist, is one of our most admired and celebrated younger writers. Like 'Wolf,' this is the story of an expedition across a psychic as well as a geographic United States. It is an account of the journey of three young Americans who, no longer able to connect with their world, set out from Florida across the country in order to destroy a dam that they decide is being built in the Grand Canyon -- the final, purgative release that will allow them to live as human beings."
