Very Good in a Very Good dustjacket. Black boards quarterbound in red cloth. Both the spine and the front board are stamped in black. Octavo. 1266pps. First printing (Scribner's A.10-57). There is modest rubbing wear to the cloth at the spine-ends. Also, a previous owner's name is neatly penned in the upper corner of the front pastedown and a price and a date are penned in the upper corner of the rear pastedown. Faint smudging to the fore-edge. Otherwise clean, bright, and soundly bound. The price-clipped dustjacket, glossy in a new mylar sleeve, has shallow chipping at the spine-ends and light touches of rubbing and soiling to the rear panel. A nice copy, colorfully jacketed.

Four years pass during the course of it, the four years of peace imprisoned between World War II and Korea. A rebel, a wanderer, a writer who has given up writing, Dave Hirsh has just returned to town after years away; while his brother Frank has risen steadily in Parkman, a shrewd businessman with a driving need for admiration and affection. The contrasted, conflicting lives of the Hirsh brothers provide the core of the narrative, but 'Some Came Running' contains enormously more.
